How to play Choicer Voicer with friends: online & on the couch

"I wanna play with my friend but he's in another state" is one of the most-viewed threads in the Choicer Voicer community — the game is built for a living room, and the developer has said official online play isn't coming soon. The good news: there are four ways to play together today, from the official couch mode to a community netplay mod and a free browser game that's fully online.

What the game offers officially

The Choicer Voicer supports 1–4 players locally: everyone shares one keyboard or passes a mic, and the panel scores each impersonation. It also has a Twitch mode for streamers — chat votes on the winner and can submit their own voices as packs, which effectively makes your stream a distributed game show. Both modes are built in; no mods required. What the game does not have is netplay: two copies of the game can't talk to each other over the internet.

Option 1: Couch co-op (official, free)

For a party, the local mode is the real deal. One keyboard for all four players works (each player has their own key bindings), and the game shines when everyone's in the same room heckling the dubs. Grab a short-pack rotation from our best packs list and you're set for the night.

Option 2: The Multiplayer Online Co-op Mod (community netplay)

The community's answer to the no-netplay problem is a Multiplayer Online Co-op Mod on GameBanana — one of the most-downloaded items in the entire section, which tells you how loudly players want online matches. It hooks the real game and lets friends join your lobby over the internet. Installation is the same as any mod: download from GameBanana and follow the mod's own readme. Both players need a copy of The Choicer Voicer.

Option 3: Voxalike — free, browser-based, fully online

Voxalike is a free browser game built by an independent developer specifically around the gap the Choicer Voicer left open: it's a voice-impression game show with online co-op and PVP, it's compatible with Choicer Voicer dub packs (import them to play your favorite scenes), and it even has a workshop with one-click pack subscriptions. It runs on any platform with a browser — Windows, Mac, Chromebook, even phones — and it's playable right now, embedded on our play free page. It's the fastest way to play with a friend in another state: no installs, no mods, just a link.

Option 4: Remote play — stream the couch to your friends

If you want the real game with your real packs and you don't mind the host being the only one running it, remote-play tools turn the couch game into an online one:

Before you play: check your mic

Every multiplayer mode dies the same way: the game can't hear you. The Choicer Voicer has a known recording bug on some systems, so run the browser mic test first and keep the microphone fix guide handy — especially before a Twitch stream or a Voxalike lobby.
